An occasional but frequent column exploring the joys of writers' desperate attempts to avoid repetition

There was much to love in a November 2019 article about the demise of a bollard.
First, the headline: "Doncaster traffic bollard used by man for sex 'killed' in road smash".
Then, the subhead: "A Doncaster traffic bollard has been destroyed – just weeks after it was used by man for sex."
A classic intro: "Shocked motorists spotted the man ‘enjoying himself’ by ‘writhing up and down’ against the road bollard in Armthorpe Road last month."
And then the money shot. Guess the missing words in the second paragraph: "But the xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx near the roundabout with Sandringham Road has now been destroyed in an apparent road smash."
Suggestions now, please, in the comments box. Answer next time.
